About Marius
Marius Balayn is a Toulouse based photographer.
Trained as a French lawyer, he had a first career before the Courts of the “Ville Rose”.
Along with his academic formation, Marius has always developed a creative life, firstly as a first flute within the Aix-Marseille University Orchestra, then turning to the image world.
His first encounter with photography began with the inheritance of a 1937 family Kodak Retina, one of the first cameras to use 35mm film.
Marius then took a passion for the medium of film photography, always carrying a camera on his travels or in his professional life. This enthusiasm was noticed, Marius became the regular photographer of his relatives and started to develop personal projects such as "The Cyclists".
More and more involved in photography, Marius decided to devote himself to it full time from 2022.
Influenced by great names such as Robert Doisneau, Vivian Maier and Sebastao Salgado, his practice is humanistic.
Marius uses to this day analog and digital cameras.
