Visiting Leica with a Leica

On February I had the opportunity to visit Leica Welt in Wetzlar, Germany. This modern complex is composed of a museum, several photo exhibitions, two Leica stores, fancy accommodations and, most importantly, a factory where cameras and lenses are carefully handmade.

The museum is dedicated to the history and development of Leica cameras, showcasing every model from the first Barnack Leicas (copies from the 1914 prototype are visible) until the most recent analog and digital cameras. Iconic models such as the Leica M6 and their prototypes are also highlighted.

For newcomers it's also interesting to discover the working principles of cameras, shutter speed, aperture and so on...

Finaly art galleries are exposing the work of great and inspiring photographers such as Alberto Venzago or Frank Horvat.

Had fun exploring Wetzlar as well.

I shot this serie at the train stations on my way to Wetzlar and at the Leica Welt also.

The camera I used was a Leica III with Voigtlander 35mm lens and Ilford HP5+ film.
